How Give Back Beauty builds a scalable Business Central integration backbone with Celigo

Give Back Beauty is a private global beauty group that collaborates with brands and talent through licenses, joint ventures, international partnerships, and distribution agreements. The company develops and grows beauty brands in categories such as fragrance, skincare, makeup, bodycare, haircare, and personal care.

Led by the motto "big enough to matter, small enough to care," Give Back Beauty combines international scale with a strong commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. The business model is built around long-term brand development, while the company gives something back to people and the planet.

Give Back Beauty (PFCH Lux SA)

Give Back Beauty needed a scalable integration backbone around Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Celigo.

The project comprises critical integrations with manufacturing partners, third-party logistics providers, warehouse operations, CRM, and sales software processes. The aim was to replace a fragmented legacy integration landscape with a more maintainable architecture that Give Back Beauty's technical team could eventually manage and extend themselves.

Teknuro designed a Celigo-based integration architecture that connects Business Central with external manufacturing partners, 3PL partners, warehouse partners, and sales software systems. The solution supports production, logistics, warehouse, sales order, inventory, purchase order, item master, pricing, and status flows across multiple formats and protocols.

The result is a scalable integration backbone that improves operational insight, reduces manual work, lowers the risk of failed data transfer, and gives Give Back Beauty a stronger foundation for internal ownership after go-live.

Give Back Beauty wasn’t dealing with a single simple system integration. The company had to standardize a complex operational integration landscape around Business Central and Celigo.

The project touched multiple operational domains at once: external manufacturing, warehouse logistics, third-party logistics, CRM, inventory, purchase orders, subcontracting orders, goods receipts, shipment notifications, sales orders, item master data, price lists, discounts, and sales order status updates.

The complexity stemmed from the number of external partners and the variation in formats and protocols. Business Central had to exchange data with external manufacturers, 3PL partners, warehouse partners, and sales software systems through a mix of REST, OData, SFTP, XML, SOAP XML, and JSON-based interfaces.

Without a scalable integration layer, teams would remain dependent on manual checks, loose processes, and fragile point-to-point integrations. That increases the risk of failed shipments, delayed order processing, inventory inaccuracies, slower fulfilment updates, and limited operational visibility.

Therefore, the integration architecture had to be scalable, maintainable, and clear enough for Give Back Beauty’s internal technical team to take ownership after go-live.

Teknuro designed the integration architecture around Celigo as the middleware layer and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as the ERP foundation.

The solution connects Business Central to external production partners, warehouse partners, 3PL partners, and sales software systems via structured integration flows.

On the production side, the integration includes purchase orders that are sent from Business Central to external production partners and the goods receipts that come back. Subcontracting orders are also issued, and finished-goods ASN messages return. The flows are designed to handle partial receipts and repeated ASN updates without counting quantities twice.

For warehouse and 3PL operations, Business Central purchase orders move to warehouse and 3PL partners, and receipt confirmations flow back to Business Central as purchase receipts. Sales orders are sent to warehouse partners for fulfilment, with shipping notifications returning to Business Central and stock adjustments in item journals. Item master data, including dangerous-goods characteristics that some carriers require, is published from Business Central to the relevant logistics partners.

The sales software integration sends customers, items, stock, price lists, and discounts from Business Central to the sales platform, and returns Business Central sales order statuses as external order status views. Orders created in the sales software are written back into Business Central as sales orders.

Teknuro designed the integrations with clear transformation paths and operating patterns. Purchase order updates, for example, can be handled by re-sending the complete purchase order when the receiving system does not support partial updates. Goods receipt and ASN flows support partial receipts without re-counting quantities that were previously processed. Warehouse flows for sales orders include only relevant item lines, and stock adjustments are mapped to Business Central item journals.

The architecture also uses Celigo logging, error handling, and separate test and production environments. This provides Give Back Beauty with better monitoring and a clearer support model after go-live.

Give Back Beauty is building a scalable integration foundation around Business Central and Celigo.

The project replaces fragile legacy integration patterns with a cleaner architecture that is easier to maintain and monitor and better aligns with long-term ownership by internal teams.

The company will have a scalable middleware base around Celigo, with Business Central connected to production partners, warehouse and 3PL partners, and the sales software stack for customers, products, prices, inventory, and order status. Operational visibility improves across CRM, manufacturing, logistics, and fulfilment. The volume of manual work decreases in purchase order, goods receipt, subcontracting, ASN, sales order, shipment, and stock processes. Structured flows, monitoring, and error handling reduce failed data transfer, and the company gains tighter control over item master data, inventory, price lists, and discounts. Equally important: the maintainable architecture makes internal handover clearer and creates a path for Give Back Beauty’s technical team to manage and extend the flows themselves after go-live.

The value lies in a maintainable integration backbone that connects production, logistics, sales, and ERP processes in a way that enables the business to scale and eventually manage internally.
